Join us at the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library for a journey through time as we look toward America’s 250th anniversary. We are thrilled to host a special historical presentation that bridges the gap between the nation’s past and its future.

Experience the “Centennial President” firsthand. Through the voice of President Ulysses S. Grant, you’ll be transported back to 1876—the year the United States celebrated its first 100 years at the historic Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia.

Discover how the pioneer spirit helped shape a nation defined by progress, pride, and possibility. As we approach the 250th anniversary of the United States, this presentation offers a unique opportunity to reflect on our national journey and the legacy that continues to drive us forward.

The Magical World of Cameron County

A County-Wide Quest for Families | May 1st – May 23rd, 2026

Step into a world of magic, mystery, and adventure this spring with The Magical World of Cameron County—a county-wide quest designed especially for school-aged children and their families!

From May 1st through May 23rd, families are invited to explore participating locations throughout Cameron County, complete enchanting quests, and experience hands-on learning inspired by a certain beloved wizarding world. This Remake Learning event blends creativity, discovery, and fun in a truly magical way.

Begin your journey at your local library, where you can pick up your official Adventure Guide and start earning entries toward an exciting House Cup Prize Package!

Throughout the event, you’ll be able to:

  • Complete self-guided quests like making potions, building energy projects inspired by Quidditch, and identifying magical forest creatures on nature walks
  • Enjoy bonus treats and themed refreshments (optional, small fee may apply)
  • Attend special one-day Wizarding Workshops hosted across the county

Each completed quest earns you an entry toward the grand prize package, which includes:

Join Northern Pennsylvania Regional College and the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library for Art Adventures, a creative series where caregivers and children explore famous artists and make art together.

Each class introduces a different artist and a hands-on activity inspired by their work.

In this free class, caregivers and children (ages 5+) will create together while learning a little about Michelangelo and the art of Renaissance sculpture.

In this free class, caregivers and children (ages 5+) will create together while learning about Yayoi Kusama, a contemporary artist known for her colorful artwork filled with playful polka dots and repeating patterns.

Participants will explore the idea of repetition and pattern in modern art as they create their own polka dot–inspired masterpiece using bright colors and fun shapes.

Mini Albrecht Durer Printmaking

In this free class, caregivers and children (ages 5+) will create together while learning about Albrecht Dürer, a Northern Renaissance artist known for his incredibly detailed drawings of animals and nature.

Participants will explore the art of printmaking by carving a simple design into linoleum and creating their own printed artwork. This hands-on activity introduces how artists like Dürer used carving techniques to produce images that could be shared and reproduced.

The Book Club has two groups that meet monthly on Thursdays from 5-7 pm.

Book Club books are chosen by the librarian based on participant interest, requests, and book availability. Discussions are led by club members with a guide created by staff to get the group talking.

Check out some of the ongoing programs we’re proud to offer at the library. Through our programs, we aim to engage children and teens and help them learn through fun, educational activities.

Various children’s programs are held throughout the year. All programs are free to the public and include stories, simple games, snacks and related age-appropriate activities.

Lego & Building Club!

LEGO and Building Club. Back in Session Starting September 10!

From 3:30-4:30 pm every Tuesday. Club no longer just for building LEGOS. Participants can use the library’s LEGOS, Wooden Blocks, or STEM Kits to build whatever their imaginations desire.

Story Hour

Library Story Hour Ages 0-4 : Story Hour sessions are held Wednesday from 10:30 – 11:15 AM.  Miss Kendyl curates a story and craft session geared towards children ages 0-4 and will include a story, craft and snack. Older siblings are welcome to join. Children 2 and under must have an adult remain with them for the entire program.

Library Story Hour Ages 5-8: Story Hour sessions are held Thursdays from 3:30-4:30pm. Miss Kendyl curates a story and craft session geared towards children ages 5-8 and will include a story, craft and snack. Siblings are welcome to join.

Museum Adventure Pass Program from The PA Lumber Museum

Choo! Choo! All aboard! Buford the Buck and his Woodland Pals want to invite you to stop by at the library to check out the Lumber Industry Display!

You’ll find books on the Pennsylvania lumber industry, Pennsylvania railroads, the Civilian Conservation Corps, and Pennsylvania wildlife!

Stop by the library to learn more about the Museum Adventure Pass Program brought to you by The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum located on the scenic US Route 6!

The PA Lumber Museum prides itself on using fun and educational experiences to 1. enlighten guests on the rich history of Pennsylvania’s lumber industry and 2. show the importance of forest conservation. The Visitor’s Center includes tons of interactive exhibits both inside and outside. This even includes a re-created 20th Century lumber camp and a locomotive! Plus, there are plenty of picnic areas and even a nature trail.

Now, you and your family can use the Museum Adventure Pass Program to gain access to the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum and it’s exhibits for FREE! All you need is a valid and active library card!
